Cloud Mirror
This is my first attempt at a mirror. It was inspired by all of the cloud photos I’ve been taking and the work of Hokusai.
I’m definitely drawn to natural forms built with unnatural materials. I’ve seen a few laser-cut mirrors around and they all seem to stick closely to a square format. I thought I’d give it a go and see what happens with other shapes.
Moving forward, I’m going to add other cloud formations to form a group. Small, medium and large clouds. This would most likely be the large. (5 x 34 inches)
I would really like to hear what people think of this piece. Please leave comments. Or, feel free to contact me if you’d like to purchase one 🙂
Hey man…this is beautiful! I’d love to see more sizes and shapes..great stuff!!!
You should check out a site called Etsy.com. It’s for people who want to sell handmade things. Or you should take them to some of the stores in Williamsburg, Park Slope or the village. They’d totally sell. Heck, I’d buy one!
hey eric. its been a long time. i am bias to clouds (if you read my previous posts) but i think they are great! i would love to have that in my place (or new studio) as well. and i could see them on etsy… or even someplace like: http://www.velocityartanddesign.com/
Love the concept of the cloud mirrors. These would sell like hotcakes.
I like your cloud mirror… I would LOVE it if it were even larger!

I stumbled here after googling hokusai clouds. I am a painter in Fl and have recently been inspired by the endless repetition of natural form that can be found in the works. Needless to say, your mirror is dope. If you have taken any of the above advice and it is for sale someplace you’ve gotta let me know. PS, I like the size, it minimizes the amount of recognizable reflection and give it some mystery…maybe, the image is small.
