it's been too long since a post. i've gotten into my acrylics this week. (thanks again "drawing methods" class.) it was somewhat liberating, though the other side of me wants to keep learning actionscript... there's never enough time to do it all. anyway, thought i'd share this lovely pollockyesque image.

Barb..this is a solid piece of labwork. Can't wait to get you at our next 'art lodge'. Also, I totally identify with your 'conflict' of drawing vs. flash/actionscript/technology learning...but they can co-exist...The key I think is devoting any and all computer stuff towards making a way to better showcase / complement your art. Case in point is Nate Williams: (http://www.n8w.com and http://www.illustrationmundo.com )...his work is obviously kick-ass and plentiful, yet he built illustrationmundo from scratch using PHP/ MySQL, and built his rep's website too...they can co-exist, but I try to assess if I'm really ever gonna get a handle on some technology, and if so, I'll jump in and learn it, otherwise, my time is better spent in the sketchbook...this is our unique struggle...

What John said. I'm down with that.
I actionscripted my new sable #6 brush to dip itself randomly in my little squirts of acrylagouache, then with a if/then/goto var comment, it paints x and y coordinates programmed using a PHP feed from weather dot com based on the barometric pressure in a small fishing village in Malaysia. It's awesome, baby! Awesome.
